I have finally (FINALLY!) mastered the art of waking up just enough to stumble to the bathroom in the middle of the night without waking up so much that I actually cannot go back to sleep. This morning I was even able to navigate needing to replace the TP to the agenda without waking myself.
So when I am stumbling back to bed to get that extra few hours of sleep I should not glance out the kitchen window to see white (WHITE!). Because the general vista out of our kitchen window is not white - it is brown and black. And when you see white that is because there is snow.
About an inch, best as I can tell. The road has tracks in it and cars seem to be passing without issue. According to the current forecast we're already in the thaw, so by the time it's REALLY morning this may just be a memory for the insomniacs.
But all of this information gathering and processing cannot be done while one is asleep. One sees WHITE and one wakes up. And one realizes that the cupboards are rather bare at the moment. And one starts to worry just a wee bit.
Now I can worry about falling asleep again, instead.
