I have just finished clearing out the fridge, so as not to scare away the throngs of people that will be coming to see the house in the next few days.
Out: Anything that we will not use in the next two weeks that will not survive the move. Which is just about everything, considering the fact that I'm reticent to cook anything at the moment. We need to be prepared to show the house on a moment's notice between the hours of 9 am to 9 pm, and I'm incapable of cooking THAT cleanly. That, and the fact that the realtors made me pack my knives. Something about weapons being threatening or some such nonsense.
My fridge now looks like that of a tried and true bachelor.
In the freezer: Ice, a frozen pizza, and one ziploc container of kohlrabi stew (which will be Sweetie's lunch one of these days). There was a lot of good CSA stuff that had to get tossed, because I didn't get around to using it in time.
In the fridge: A six-pack worth of beer (one Sam Adams, two Dead guy Ales, and three Pilsner Urquels if you care); several bottled non-alcoholic beverages including water, gatorade, and sparkling cider;
a jug of iced tea and a jug of filtered water; mustard, mayo, peanut butter, jelly, milk, and a jar of peanut sauce.
I just have to keep reminding myself that we hope to have at least one, if not multiple, offers to consider Monday evening. Then we can become human again.
