Sweetie and I are simple people with simple needs. When it comes to a buyer's agent (aka our real estate agent in the Couv) our simple needs are: ability to let us into the houses we want to see, and ability to make sure we get as good of a deal as possible when it comes to the closing table. The ability to help us find houses is an added bonus, but with the internet resources available it's not a high priority.
Sweetie and I are also very clear on what our simple needs are in a house. It must have at least three bedrooms It must have at least 1.1 bathrooms (which is real estate talk for 2 toilets in the joint). It must be within certain geographic boundaries that we have determined acceptable. It must be within our price range. There are many houses that fit these criteria.
A couple of weekends we went house hunting with the agent, and in addition to some of the properties we had tagged for him he took us to some properties he felt would fit our needs. A couple had only two bedrooms. Several had only one bathroom. He indicated that we could potentially add a second bathroom ourselves. Which is true, but a path we don't want to travel down at this point if we can avoid it.
In preparation for viewing some houses this weekend I indicated this to our agent. For the time being we are only interested in looking at houses with 2 toilets in them. If you lived with someone with food sensitivities you would insist on two toilets as well.
Today he sent us five listings he thought we might be interested in. One of them is something we may be interested in. I had actually tagged it myself last night in my online research. One of them is WELL outside of our geographic boundaries. THREE of them have only one bathroom.
Perhaps I need to invite our agent to one of these homes with only one bathroom and then feed Sweetie some MSG... that may be the only way to get our message across to him.
