A lot of people have a lot of negative things to say about the state of our country today, or the recent history of our country, but it's hard to hold on to those negative thoughts when pondering the story of Ms. Amanda Jones.
The daughter of a slave, who originally paid a poll tax in order to exercise her right to vote, has now cast her vote for our nation's first African-American presidential candidate. Granted, Ms. Jones is 109 years old, but that's a pretty impressive arc of progress she's seen if you ask me.
