I have now devised the full Thanksgiving plan, and am typing it out here as much for my reference as for yours.
Thanksgiving Part I:
Thanksgiving Part II:
- High-Heat Roasted Turkey + Quick Turkey Gravy (from the old standby)
- Stuffing (per the family recipe)
- Candied Yams
- Green Bean Casserole
- Cranberry Relish Redux
To accomplish these dishes my shopping lists:
Monday:
- 16 oz cranberries
- 2 juicy oranges
- 2 juicy lemons
- shallots
- flat-leaf parsley
- 2 lb green beans
- celery
- onion
- 4 lb (?!) yams
- egg
- 3T cornstarch
- vanilla extract
- sugar
- light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup cranberry juice
- orange juice
- 1 container chicken stock
- fried onions
Saturday
- Turkey
- 1 lb green beans
- 8 oz white mushrooms
- 3/4 cup cream
- Rolls*
*Dad - if the rolls are really important to you, you may want to bring your own. With so many carbs already on the menu my mind just doesn't go that way, so I'm afraid I may forget them.
